About the Art
'I was raised by my grandmother (kokom). I was fortunate to gain and master the skills of beading by learning first hand experience at a very young age. The patterns I use are floral which was passed on from my grandmother. She used vibrant brightly coloured floral designs. I still continue and embrace my grandmother's unique signature style of beading. Today, I carry the teachings of my grandmother's. I continue to teach and schedule classes on beadwork. The students learn how to make moccasins, mitts and skirt making.' - Rosa Scribe -

As someone who actually lives where it snows, I don’t play around with footwear. These mukluks handled blizzards, freezing rain, and my morning coffee spill like champs. Also, Rosa Scribe’s artwork makes them wearable heritage—and I’m here for it.

Nice look and feel, but took a while to break in. Heel slipped a bit at first. Once warmed up, comfort improved. Good for light snow, not deep freeze yet.

I was skeptical about the temp rating, but these boots handled a week of -25°C with ease. The glacier grip helped on icy sidewalks, and no water got in during a surprise thaw. Comfortable right out of the box, and the Indigenous artist collaboration adds real cultural value. Proud to support that.
